Trips this weekend - 26th and 27th March

Saturday 26th March - Mountain bike the Rimutaka Rail Trail
Sam is running a mountain bike day trip on Saturday to the Rimutaka Rail Trail.  As the name suggests, the trail is an old dismantled railway that stretches across the Rimutaka Ranges just north of Wellington.  The trail is about 17km each way, and is a fairly gentle ride that is completely suited to beginners.  You will need your own mountain bike, with lights or a headtorch (as there are some tunnels), a helmet, plus food and drink for the day.
If you want to join in, please contact Sam for the details of the trip, and to ensure that there is car space for you.

Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th March - Basic Paddle
This is a basic introduction to kayaking, either on the Otaki River or the Rangitikei River.  This trip should be going ahead this weekend, but please contact Hayden to express your interest.  Places will be limited.

Next meeting - Monday 28th March - Guest Speaker, and results of Ben's fun night!
Details of the guest speaker tbc.  Also, the all important results of Ben's fun night will be announced!  Which team will have won?  Come along to find out, and hopefully win a prize!

Looking further ahead, the following weekend (2nd - 3rd April), Jingjing will be running an overnight tramp up the Pohangina Valley.  More details, and sign up, at next Monday's meeting.
